Fishermen who recently moved to Southwest Florida, just purchased a boat, or those wishing to progress to the next level  will benefit from our Most Popular Academy Course.
Designed specifically to teach you how to fish and boat in Florida State Waters, this class will minimize the perpetual learning curve that most New to Florida fishermen and boaters experience.

Special emphasis is placed on boating safety, survival and quickly understanding Florida fishing methods, fish to target, what baits and lures to use and fishing spots to target.

Core topics include:

Florida weather patterns

Marine Forecasts and how they affect the waters and fish

Boating safety and “outside the box” offshore survival techniques

Florida fish identification

Regulations, seasons, size and bag limits

Baits and Lures for Florida Fish

Locations, including specific GPS waypoints and fishing hotspots

Anchoring Techniques

Understanding your Fishfinder and GPS

Engine maintenance and troubleshooting

What to catch when, where and how

Cooking your catch

This is our most comprehensive course and requires a committment from the student.  The class meets two evenings a week, for three weeks.

Text materials are included in tuition as well as copies of all classroom aides.

 

We will assist you in Tackle and Equipment Purchases based on a commonly reached value system- maximizing your buying power and potential.  We  actually accompany you to Your favorite tackle or boating store and help you make cost effective purchases that represent the Best Value to You!
Electronics Experts and Marine Mechanics will share with you valuable tips and techniques that will shave years off your learning curve and save you money on boat and engine maintenance costs.

Upon course completion, the student will be better able to prepare for and design fishing and boating excursions in order to minimize expenses and maximize results.  Accurate interpretation of marine electronics will be realized to improve navigational abilities and increase catch potential. Students will be more Mentally prepared to handle emergency situations on the water and understand search and recovery procedures that will prolong survival at sea.

The student will be better able to make equipment selections and purchases to achieve the best value for their respective financial situation. Additionally, students will have advanced to a higher level of maritime experience with skills and knowledge that will carry them into a more cost effective management style approach to fishing and boating activities.
