Sorry I missed your request in time to get in touch, just joined the forum. I have recently bought an 18′ Permit flats boat with a real low time Yamaha 115 four stroke and purchased a Lowrance HDS7 chart plotter, fishfinder for it. The boat looks about identical to a Hewes and I heard they were bought out by them quite a few years ago. I’m new to this flats fishing thing and going to the fishing club tonight in Venice tonight. Looks like they have a lot of good stuff to speed up the learning curve
Been exploring Charlotte Harbor, Bull Bay, and Turtle Bay, and would like to learn more about the Pine Island area, but am open to any kind of fishing. Next time you want someone to share expenses when you go let me know. I’m pretty laid back and enjoy just being out on the water and am retired.

I have a 2000 Deville DHS, and am interested in knowing if you do any work on Caddies, and what sort of rates you charge. I have what I believe is a bad sensor in the steering column, which gives me an “idiot” light to “check suspension system” This has been going on for a couple years now, I called a local dealer and they told me it was a “common” occurrence with that model year. The ODS clears, but then the warning comes back. Additionally, I’m wondering if a short in that sensor might affect other on-board computer routines, as I get occasional “check security system” warnings, that clear also. Not certain whats going on,but I’d be interested in hearing back from you. I plan to address this problem in the not too distant future..a couple months perhaps. Rob 941-355-2159

We went out Sunday, promised my son we would go Sunday and the weather didn’t really concern him, he just knew that his Daddy promised we’d go fishing Sunday. Took about 30 mins with my hands in warm water to get them back to normal LOL.

Fantastic report and pics. The river is often overlooked as a great fishing destination. This is a great time of the year to fish on the river, especially when the weather is not nice.

If you are able to make the fishing club meeting on the 21st, please share this report with the club. It’s definately “Outside the box” and a location that most members are probably unaware of.

Great job and congrats on the snook !!!
